An international team of young earth scientists originating or studying in eastern EU universities has been selected to the final round of the Next Generation Exlporers Award (NGEA) chellenge and will present their work in the PDAC 2023 Convention in Toronto, Canada. The NGEA is a globally announced challenge for young geoscientists who are interested in to analyse a complex geological-geophysical ore deposit dataset using advanced data evaluation methods.
The Flintstone team has worked on the dataset of the Canadian Flin Flon VMS ore minrelization.
The team consist of MSc students studying at the University of Miskolc, Hungary, University of Zagreb, Croatia and students doing their MSc at Swedish universitises (Lulea, Lund) or in the EMERALD joint master programme but having BSc from eastern EU universities (University of Zagreb, Babes-Bolyai University Cluj, University of Vilnius).
